Client: Cywain
Sector: Food & drink producers

Planning and delivery of the Sustainability Challenge series of masterclasses for Cywain - a project supporting food and drink producers in Wales. Working closely with the in-house project team to plan, design, promote and deliver an online training course over several weeks, tailored specifically to equip small businesses with the practical know-how to take advantage of the significant and growing demand for sustainable products and brands. 24 businesses completed the course and gained certification. They were offered introductory or advanced level training based on a skills assessment.

Client: Lantra | Food Skills Cymru
Sector: Food & drink manufacturing

In partnership with Cynnal Cymru and commissioned by Food Skills Cymru led by Lantra, to design and pilot a Welsh Government sustainability training programme for food and drink manufacturers. This was delivered in early 2022. 18 businesses completed the 6-week training course that includes 5 online modules with supported one-to-one tuition to help them learn how to create a sustainability strategy underpinned by environmental and social action plans. Positive feedback has led to the project receiving additional funding to provide training to 40 additional businesses until end of 2022.

Client: Tyfu Cymru | Lantra
Sector: Horticulture

Tyfu Cymru is led by Lantra and provides commercial horticulture businesses with skills and training to help them capitalise on opportunities for growth and to future-proof the industry. Commissioned as a critical friend to support the in-house management team and help set the direction for the project by developing a series of key messages that align with the strategic objectives of funders and policymakers (specifically Economic Action Plan - Prosperity for All, the Environment (Wales) Act 2016 and the Well-Being of Future Generations (Wales) Act 2015). Work is ongoing to track progress and help communicate their achievements and position the project for future opportunities.

“Cywain recently contracted Iain to work with us to design and deliver a new Sustainability Challenge – an online ‘bootcamp’ for our food and drink producer clients. Iain's expertise in this field was evident throughout and his reliability and professionalism resulted in a very smooth process, from start to finish. His ability to share his knowledge on sustainability with such passion, resulted in very enthused and inspired clients, eager to put his recommendations to action and make positive changes within their businesses”
